Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid is a role model for countless cricketers around the world, for the solidity with which he batted and thus he is better known as ‘the wall’. However, the current India A and India U-19 coach said that his sons try to emulate the modern batting wizard AB de Villiers in their game.
“If you bat like that you are going to be popular. I see my sons playing, and they are always trying to play the shots AB does. Like all young players, they try to copy him but soon realize that it is not that easy to do,” Dravid told a leading newspaper.
At present, AB de Villiers is at the peak of form and thus in the purple of his career as well as his popularity with a huge fan base around the world, especially in India. In the ongoing Freedom series, he has been strongly cheered and supported by the Indian crowd at every stadium the series has been played.
With his eyeball grabbing playing style, de Villiers is a complete showman when at the crease. His risky and innovative batting approach is loved by all. AB who is 100-Test old now is termed a modern great and the best batsman in the world by some of the legends of the game and there’s no doubt about it at all.
