'Sorry, How are you?' - David Warner responds to a fan tweeting him for 27 straight days

Australian batter David Warner is one of the finest batters going around and has a huge fan following for the same. As of now, the veteran batter is pretty occupied with the high-voltage Ashes 2021-22 being underway in Australia. Warner played match-winning knocks in the first two games and would be raring to extend his purple patch against England.

Although Warner has been pretty busy with his cricket assignments, he still managed to take out time for one of his die-hard fans. Notably, the 35-year-old is very active on social media and often interacts with his fans. He also doesn’t mind getting involved in banters at times. Meanwhile, the veteran cricketer, on Thursday (December 23) responded to a fan on Twitter, who had been trying to get Warner’s attention for the last 27 days.

His efforts and wait eventually paid off as Warner, on the 27th day of tweeting, Warner directed his attention to the user. He even apologised for ignoring his previous tweets. “Day 27 of tweeting until @davidwarner31 replies,” read the post which eventually caught Warner’s attention. “Sorry how are you,” replied the batter.

David Warner’s gesture wins heart on social media

The fan had been trying to get Warner’s attention since a month as his first tweet is dated November 27. As Warner finally came up with a reply, the comment section got flooded in no time. While several praised Warner for his gesture, many also lauded the fan for being patient and putting efforts all this while.

Meanwhile, Warner has made his bat talk in the ongoing Ashes series against England. He got into the nineties twice in the first two Tests but couldn’t touch the three-figure mark, getting out in 94 and 95 respectively. It must be noted that the batter played the second game despite a rib-injury. Although he was struggling throughout the contest, he still managed to make a mark.

“I did have a local (anesthetic) this morning just before I went out to bat. It probably hurt more than what the ribs are at the moment,” Warner said after scoring 95 in the Day-Night Test.

“I was in a fair bit of pain and agony and being able to pick up the kids which is a bit tough but from that perspective I’ve just been icing and doing as much as I can to get ready,” he had added.
