South Africa Cruises over Bangladesh in 1st T20I, Bangladesh Vs South Africa – Statistical Review: The first of the 2 T20I series between Bangladesh and South Africa was being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. After inflicting a crunching series win against the Indians, the Bangladesh side looked to be confident but T20 was quite a difficult format when it comes against an opposition of South Africa’s class.
Opting to bat first, South African batting line up did not seem to enjoy much of a comfort as they were attacked incredibly by the Bangladeshi bowlers. Runs were hard to come by and skipper Faf du Plessis played the anchor part in the innings to take the South African score to 148 runs at the end of 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh suffered an early setback by losing both their openers but a resilient partnership from Shakib and Mushfiqur took them in pace with the asking score. But the partnership did not last long and in the end, Bangladesh kept on losing wickets and in the process were de-tracked from the match. South Africa went onto win the game by a margin of 52 runs.
