Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed that the Bangladesh men’s team will be touring South Africa for an ODI and Test series. In an announcement on their official website, CSA finalized the dates and venues of the tour, which will consist of three One Day Internationals and a two Tests across four venues from 18 March to 12 April.

The board confirmed SuperSport Park as the host of two of the ODI matches, with the third ODI set to be hosted by the Wanderers, while the coastal cities of Durban and Gqeberha will be the venues for the Test matches.  The tour will be of great significance for the hosts as well as the visitors as both series count for vital points in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League and the ICC World Test Championship.

Bangladesh played their last Test series against New Zealand in January earlier this year. The Bangla Tigers were successful in scripting history when they won the first test at Bay Oval. Ebadot Hussain was the chief architect of the victory, returning with match figures of 7/121.

However, The Kiwis bounced back in the next Test and drew the series 1-1. The series saw impressive performances by both Bangladeshi batters as well as bowlers and their fans will be hoping that the players would carry the rich vein of form coming into the South African tour.

Meanwhile now, a tough challenge awaits for the Tigers at South African shores. The Proteas have been in terrific form, thrashing India 2-1 in the Test series and 3-0 in the ODI series recently. The Proteas outshone India in all departments and will be looking forward to emulating a similar kind of performance in the upcoming series at home.
