Preview for Dream11 Fantasy
What is it about Australia that no matter what the Proteas are going through, it always tends to bring the best out of them? Australia hasn’t won an ODI in South Africa since 2011. They have managed just a solitary win in their past 11 eleven encounters against South Africa and two of those nine defeats have come in this series.
South Africa’s back-to-back victories in the past two games have once again asserted two things: Firstly the importance of potent middle-order and secondly, the importance of one of the top-4 converting their starts into a really big one, as Henrich Klaassen and Janneman Malan have shown in the past two games.
None of the aforementioned features has been displayed by the Aussies in the first two matches. While the struggles of their middle-order are well documented, what has hurt them is the inability of their top-4: Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, David Warner, and Marnus Labuschagne- to convert their starts into a three-figure.
With the series already lost, the Aussies will be looking to salvage lost pride by winning the last ODI. South Africa, on the other hand, will hope to complete their second successive whitewash against the Aussies (they won 5-0 at home in 2016) and end what has been a hugely disappointing home season on a high.
Weather Condition/Report
Bright sunshine is set to be the order of the day in Potchefstroom on Saturday if the weather reports are to be believed. According to the report, the temperature is set to fluctuate between 14 and 28 degrees Celsius while the humidity is set to hover around 42%. Chances of rain- 0℅
Pitch Condition/Report:
Just like the first two games in Paarl and Bloemfontein, another slowish track awaits both the teams in Potchefstroom. While the track will have enough runs to keep batsmen interested, spinners might come into play as the game wears on.
Average first innings score: 227 (In 26 ODIs played at the venue)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 14, Lost – 10, N/R-2

Top Picks:
South Africa: Barring Quinton de Kock, each of the South African batsmen in Janneman Malan, Kyle Verreynne, Henrich Klaasen, David Miller, and JJ Smuts has chipped-in with brilliant performances in the past two games.
Just like their batting, South Africa’s bowling too has been brilliant with Lungi Ngidi, who claimed a career-best six-for in the last game, and Anrich Nortje spearheading the fast bowling unit and the duo of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi putting a stranglehold in the middle-overs.
Australia: The Aussies will hope that at least one of their top-4 batsman kicks on and convert his start into a three-figure score. While David Warner has blazed away at the top without really converting into a big one, skipper Aaron Finch and Steve Smith have failed to convert their 50s into a really big score. D’Arcy Short played a crucial knock of 69 in the middle-order and he’ll be key for the Aussies during the middle and death overs.
As far as bowling is concerned, Pat Cummins has provided wickets with the new ball but the same cannot be said about their spinners, something they’ll hope isn’t the case on Saturday.
