Pakistan cricket team will take on hosts England in their next assignment. The tour comprises three ODIs and as many T20Is, starting from July 8. Needless to mention, Babar Azam will hold the key for the visitors and expectations are sky-high from him. The Pakistan skipper is deemed as one of the finest batters going around and his record across formats is nothing short of exceptional.

Hence, Pakistani fans would want the top-ranked ODI batter to thrash England in their own den. While Azam is receiving several ‘good luck’ wishes on social media, a special message from a little fan left the talismanic cricketer overwhelmed. A specially-able kid named Muhammad Akhil, who lives in England, cheered for Babar Azam in a video and also revealed that he is a big fan of his Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Karachi Kings.

“Assalamu Alaikum. I am Muhammad Akhil. Welcome to England. I always support you and I’m a big supporter of Karachi Kings (the Pakistan Super League franchise Azam plays for). May Allah give you lots of success,” the young fan said in a video message. After coming across the clip, Babar was touched with his little fan’s gesture as he thanked the kid for his greetings.

Fans impressed with Babar Azam’s response

“Thank you for a warm welcome and wonderful wishes, you little champ. May Allah always keep you blessed. Lots of love,” wrote Azam on Twitter while reacting to the video. The 26-year-old’s reply won hearts on the internet and Azam subsequently received a lot of praises.

Meanwhile, Azam was last seen in the 2021 edition of PSL. Although Karachi Kings couldn’t get their hands on the title, the star batsman enjoyed a sensational run and played one staggering after another. In fact, he finished the season as the highest run-getter, scoring 554 runs in 11 games with his average touching 70.

He would definitely like to replicate his heroics in the national colours. However, he has some job in hand with England doing exceptionally well in white-ball cricket over the last few years. Hence, Azam needs to deliver both as a captain and a batsman to take the Men in Green over the line.
