In a special gesture, a specially-abled youth from Silchar, Abhijit Gotani has sketched two images of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The Indian players were deeply touched by the gesture and decided to make time in order to accept the gifts.

The 23-year-old is a huge cricket fan and wanted to come personally and gift the sketches to the cricketers but couldn’t do so due to personal problems. The NGO named ‘Friends of Earth’ will present the sketches to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli on his behalf as reported by Time8.com.

Guwahati, the biggest city of Asam, hosted its first ever International cricket match at the Baraspara Stadium, becoming the 49th venue to host a match. Naturally, the Indian team received an enthusiastic welcome from fans who have longed to watch cricket in a city that prioritizes football. However, the passion of the fans for the game hasn’t dwindled as shown by their cheering and hooting during the match.

All’s not well in Guwahati, though

However, an untoward incident where a stone was hurled towards the Australian team bus put the security under question. More so, because, Guwahati is also one of the host cities for the FIFA U17 World Cup. It has already hosted four group games in the FIFA U17 World Cup with the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium being the venue for almost all of the Group E games featuring top teams like Japan and France. Guwahati has been entrusted to host 10 matches in the World Cup with a semi-final also set to take place in the capital of Assam.

However, according to media reports, the visiting athletes can rest easy because Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore assured that the Australian cricket team, as well as the FIFA athletes, are comfortable with the security provided across the country.

The teams, however, have been put on security on high alert after the stone-throwing incident. Cricket Australia, on the other hand, in their official statement said that the players were completely shaken by the incident but gladly no there were no injuries to any of the players.
