SPL Winners List from 2019 to 2023
The third edition of the Saurashtra Premier League (SPL) will begin on Thursday, 15th June 2023. Sorath Lions won in the first season while Halar Heroes emerged victorious in the last edition of the tournament.
SPL is a five-franchise league tournament, comprising Halar Heroes, Zalawad Royals, Gohilwad Gladiators, Kutch Warriors, and Sorath Lions. The tournament is played in a round-robin format, as two teams at the end of the league stage fight for the prestigious trophy.
In the last edition of the competition, the Gladiators hosted Halar on the night of the finals but lost the match by 40 runs because of their poor batting performance. For Halar, Parth Chauhan was exceptional towards the fag end while Navneet Vora and Dharmendra Jadeja picked up three wickets each.
Meanwhile, veteran stumper-batter Sheldon Jackson will be seen leading Zalawad Royals while Dharmendra Jadeja will be taking command of Kutch Warriors. Arpit Vasavada will be leading the defending champions Halar Heroes, Chirag Jani to lead Sorath Lions and finally, Prerak Mandkad, who was terrific for Lucknow in the recently concluded IPL will be seen leading Gowliad Gladiators.
All the matches are scheduled to begin at 7 pm IST and will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot.
