SRH captain Kane Williamson reacts to mean tweets from supporters

Kane Williamson has turned out to be an integral part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise. He was a part of the team, but couldn’t quite make his way into the eleven often owing to the presence of more explosive stars in the lineup. However, the fortunes favoured him and he found himself in the thick of things in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL).

David Warner, who was scheduled to lead the team this season was found guilty in the infamous ball-tampering scandal. Subsequently, he was suspended from SRH for this season and the Kiwi cricketer was appointed as the skipper. The move turned out to be a masterstroke as he took his team to the Final of the championship. The Sunrisers became the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

The Orange Army also finished the round robin phase as the top-ranked team. Williamson, apart from being an astute leader, was also a fulcrum in the batting order. He was the leading run scorer of the tournament with as many as 8 half-centuries under his kitty. The SRH batting wasn’t the strongest, but the Black Cap ensured that they didn’t face many hiccups.

He was the only overseas skipper in this season’s IPL and he didn’t show any signs of nervousness whatsoever. The social media is a strong platform and supporters from nook and corner of the world expresses their opinions on their favourite cricketers. Williamson has been a popular figure, especially on Twitter where fans have showered him with praises for his and SRH’s exploits on the cricket pitch.
