Sri Lanka Board Presidents XI to warm Indian team for the Tests: Sri Lanka Cricket announced the Sri Lankan Board Presidents XI that will play against the Indian team in the 3 day warm-up game starting 6th August till the 8th of August 2015 in the Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo. Indian team has a long series of 3 Test matches in the island. The Indian boys have already landed in the Sri Lankan Islands with Virat Kohli leading the side, for a full-fledged series the very first time.
The warm up will surely give an experience and idea about the conditions that they will play under during the Test series. It will give the Indian team a good chance and the knowledge of the techniques they should be using to tackle the conditions there. The Sri Lanka Board Presidents XI will be led by Lahiru Thirimmane, who has been a consistent performer for the struggling Sri Lankan side. Upul Tharanga is also a part of the squad, a much experienced name, though he has mostly been a part of the ODI teams he carries a fair knowledge of the long format with 20 tests.
The wicket keeper Kusal Parera, 24 is yet to begin his Test career will be keeping in the 3-day match. Shehan Jayasuriya made his T20I debut on 1st of August 2015 in the recent series against Pakistan, has been given a chance to showcase his talents against India. Dhananjaya de Silva is again a new name in the long formats though, he has first class cricket experience, playing against an International side for a three day game will be a new challenge.
The Sri Lankan board is trying all its might to make the best team composition against the Indian side, who will try and win the series against the hosts on their land, as the last time it happened, was way back in 1993. Sri Lanka struggled against the dominant Pakistan side in the past few months. This series will be a test for both the teams.
