Sri Lanka cricket team’s Schedule for 2022

Sri Lankan cricket is in a transition phase from quite a good time now. After the retirements of Sri Lankan Legends like Kumar Sangakara, Mahela Jayawardena, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Sanath Jayasuriya, there had been no consistent performer for them. Hopefully, they will start doing well in 2022.

They have a compact and busy schedule in 2022. The Zimbabwe Cricket Team will visit Sri Lanka in January 2022 to play three One-Day internationals. After that, the team will tour the land of Kangaroos in January and February 2022 to play five T20Is against the mighty Aussies. That will be quite a big challenge for the island nation to compete against Australia in Australia. After this challenge, they will have one more while visiting their neighbor country India to play three T20Is and two Tests in February and March of 2022. The Indian cricket team is in spectacular form. That series will be followed by the tour of Bangladesh in May 2022, they will go there to play two Test matches.

After these several away tours, they will have a long home season which will commence with the Australia series. Australia will visit Sri Lanka for a complete tour in June and July of 2022. They will play three T20Is, five ODIs, and two Tests. The unpredictable spinners of Lanka can be a nightmare for the Aussie batters as most of them are not great players of spin-bowling and Sri Lankan pitches will give a lot of help to the spinners. Pakistan will be the next guest for them.

Pakistan will play three ODIs and two Tests in July and August 2022 in Sri Lanka. Pakistan Cricket team is also in very good form and can restrict opponents to win even in their home conditions. There is always an interesting battle whenever the island nation and Pakistan play against each other. The other Asian teams will join Pakistan in Sri Lanka to play the ACC Asia Cup 2022 which will be in the 20-over format in August and September 2022.

The tournament is expected to be a very interesting one as the tournament will happen after four years. Sri Lanka will take part in the 45-match tournament which is the T20 World Cup 2022 in October and November 2022 in Australia. The mega T20 event will be a treat to watch. At last Indian team is expected to tour South Asian nation in the last few days of the year to play some limited-over matches
