Sri Lanka include Lahiru Kumara in the squad for the 3rd ODI against Australia

The Sri Lanka vs Australia One-Day International series is level at one-all after the first two ODIs. Australia won their first game on tour to start the ODI series on a high but Angelo Mathews and his men got their act together well in the second game to square things up before the visitors had some momentum and sizeable lead. Ahead of the 3rd ODI which will set the tone for the remaining two matches the Lankan selectors have announced one change in the squad and have brought in young Lahiru Kumara.

Kumara the right-arm fast bowler has been included in the team as a replacement for Milinda Siriwardena. The 19-year old has been picked straight out of the Sri Lanka Under-19 team. He had a couple of impressive tours of Bangladesh and England where he was in the thick of wickets and that probably prompted the selectors to draft him in.

Siriwardana on the other hand, was a part of the playing XI in the previous game but only scores 19 runs and couldn’t pick a single wicket while inexperienced left-arm spinner Amila Aponso returned with 4 wickets.

The Islanders would want to continue the winning momentum and take a lead in the series at Dambulla. The Aussies will now be led by a new skipper David Warner who is known for his aggressive approach on the field and for leading his troops from the front. Though they would have liked the news of Steve Smith returning back home, Warner would definitely have a trick or two up his sleeves to surprise the Sri Lankans.
