Three Asian heavyweights India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will face off in a tri-national Twenty20 International tournament in Sri Lanka in March this year. While India and Bangladesh have been at their best in limited-overs cricket the Lankans have struggled pretty much against the weakest of the opponents. The series has been named Nidahas Trophy that will be played on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s 70th year of independence.
While the series was earlier scheduled to be played from March 8-20 as per the latest development it has been proponed by a couple of days and will end that many days ahead. Now, the first match of the tri-series will be played on March 6 with the final slated to be played on March 18.
In the opening encounter, hosts Sri Lanka will take on the top-seeded team in the contest India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. All the teams will play each other twice in the round-robin stages and the two teams that end with the highest points will then face off in the final. The R Premadasa Stadium will be the host for all the matches.
Revised Schedule:
1st T20I – Sri Lanka vs India | March 6 | R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
2nd T20I – Bangladesh vs India| March 8 | R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
3rd T20I – Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh| March 10 | R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

At the moment Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are engaged in a tri-nation ODI series that involves Zimbabwe as the third team in Bangladesh. The hosts are at the top having won both their matches while the Lankans surprised themselves losing the match against the Zimbabweans in a close game and were beaten comprehensively by Bangladesh.
Whereas the Indian team on the tour of South Africa is currently preparing for the 3rd Test of the series, following which they will play 6 ODIs and 3 T20Is before flying back home.
