Wasim Jaffer in recent times has become quite popular for his memes related to cricket which he shares on a regular basis from his Twitter account. Ahead of India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2021, which is all set to begin on July 18, the former Indian opener shared a meme and tried to express which are the three players fans should watch out for, but with a little twist.

To express himself in this regard, Jaffer posted a picture of beautiful scenery which had a flat surface, followed by a mountain and a sky on top of that. Basically, the former Indian batsman was pointing at the stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Suryakumar Yadav.

The part where the flat surface is denotes Prithvi Shaw, as the word Prithvi literally means Earth in Hindi. Then there was a mountain. The word ‘Shikhar’ means the top of the mountain in Hindi. Apart from that, the image also contained an illustration of that sky, which is also the initials with which Suryakumar Yadav, is often addressed.

Why is it an important series for Surya, Dhawan, and Shaw?

Speaking of these three individuals, the tour of Sri Lanka will be crucial for all of these three players in their own way. Shaw, the youngster is making a comeback in this series. After playing the first Test in Australia late last year, the young batter was dropped from the team because of bad form. After that, he went back to the drawing board and returned with some wonderful performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the IPL 2021 which followed.

Shikhar Dhawan has been in doubt for the Indian T20I side. But the left-handed batter showed during the IPL why he can be a valuable player for the Indian team going into the T20 World Cup. He still remains the quintessential player in the ODI XI, but he has to make a place for himself in the T20I XI.

Then comes, Suryakumar Yadav. The Mumbai batsman impressed everyone during his T20I debut series and also in the IPL 2021. He would be looking to seal his spot in the Indian team once and for all. Having said that, the Sri Lanka tour is a brilliant opportunity for him to get some things right and seal his spot for the T20 World Cup.
