The Sri Lankan Captain Angelo Mathews is feeling sleepless these days, well if you guess it’s because of his injuries issues, then you guessed it all wrong.

Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) President Thilanga Sumathipala said that Mathew’s wife (Heshani Silva) has given birth to their first child (baby boy) 11 days ago and since then the all-rounder Captain is feeling sleepless.

Mathews said that the baby is fine and healthy. He and his wife have not yet decided the name of the child but Angelo wants him to name him Jacques (as his favourite cricketer is Jacques Kallis, one of the greatest all-rounder to embrace the game).

Angelo has been out of the international cricket for quite sometime now, due to his hamstring injury, that he had conceived in the 2nd T20 against South Africa in which he was also adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant 54 not out.

The Delhi Daredevils player wanted to meet Kallis when he was touring South Africa but the meeting was never held as Angelo was injured and had to return back home.

The Sri Lankan team was then lead by Upul Tharanga (Dinesh Chandimal lead SL in third T20) as they had a disastrous tour when they lost the test match series 3-0 but made a comeback in T20s as they won by two games to one. Their misery didn’t stop there as they lost the ODIs series 5-0 against a strong South African side. They also went to win their T20 series 2-1 down under.

The all-rounder would love to come back to the national side as soon as possible as Lanka would like him to lead the side as an experienced leader.
