Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are currently enjoying their time together, as the former has been rested from the ongoing tri-series in Sri Lanka. The two were recently seen spending quality together at their new bungalow in Mumbai. Since tying the wedding knot in December last year, the couple has been constantly in news for some of the other reason.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s sports minister Dayasiri Jaysekera has invited Kohli and Anushka for a vacation to his island country. He stated that he is not inviting Kohli to play cricket but to visit is purely as a tourist destination because he has not been there after his marriage.
“I am not inviting Kohli to play here, but I want him to spend a few days with his wife Anushka Sharma. After marriage, he has not visited this country. The couple can be this nation’s guest. There are several good places to see here,” the minister told mid-day recently.
Much-needed rest for Kohli
As for Kohli, he is enjoying the much-needed rest his body has got, and recently spoken about the importance of workload management for cricketers.
‘Physically I had a few niggles, I am just getting over those. The workload has started to disagree (taking a toll) with me a little bit. I have to be very careful about how I go forward with my body, my mind, my cricket,” the Delhi batsman said.
The 29-year-old will next be seen in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in which he will captain the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The tournament starts on April 7, with the Mumbai Indians taking on the Chennai Super Kings in the opening game. RCB play their first game of the tournament against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on April 8.
