Star Sports new ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad: Naya Mauka changing sides: Star Sports has come out with the latest Mauka Mauka advert. It shows the Pakistani fan wearing India World Cup jersey and carrying the box of crackers that he so much wants to burst and roaming around Mumbai streets asking for some address. We see him walking near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Azad Maidan asking people, joggers, and cricketers for an address. People give him weird looks, judging him trying to distance from him.

He finally enters a restaurant full of people with the box amidst the glares and stares and everything and sits down at a table with every one looking at him. He stands up again and adjusts the India World Cup jersey indicating that he now supports Team India in the 2015 World Cup.

The Mauka Mauka ads have been a rage since the World cup started. The frustrated cricket fan from Pakistani and the lengths that he will go to burst those crackers that he has been saving since 1992 and waiting for India to lose to first to Pakistan, than South Africa, then UAE and now West Indies. He finally snaps and accepts that he wearing India shirt would jinx them into losing. Or he has a change of heart and really supports India.

These ads have brought out the rivalries in the World Cup out in open and have brought what every fan has in their hearts. Star Sports deserve all the praise for the concept and the actor portraying the Pakistani fan deserves all the applause for being so believable. It would be very interesting to see how the team behind the concept keeps it relevant and interesting for the whole tournament till India is involved in the World Cup.
Would be very exciting to see what the next ‘Mauka’ brings.
