Statistical highlights – Ashes 2015: One of the most one-sided Test series in history of Ashes came to an end, where none of the games been played full duration and each of the 5 matches have been dominated either of sides. Here are the interesting stats recorded during the series.

18 – Number of days the Ashes series has been played for. This is the fewest Ashes series in terms of days and only the 2nd 5-match Test series lasted 18 days after England vs West Indies in 2000. (Matches scheduled for 5 or more days)
7920 – Number of balls delivered during the series. This is the 2nd shortest Ashes series by terms of balls delivered after 2001 Ashes series in England in which all matches produced results. In overall, this is the 3rd shortest 5-match test series producing results in all games.
49.5 – Bowling strike rate in the current Ashes series. This is the best bowling strike rate in any 5-match test series which seen at least 150 wickets.
81 – Number of wickets taken by Australians in this series. England managed to pick 80 wickets. However, Australians also got 80 wicket with help of bowlers excluding B Stokes’ runout in 2nd test.
270 – Partnership runs between Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad. Interestingly, this is England’s best pair in the series. For Australia, openers Chris Rogers and David Warner put on 514 runs.
115 – Adam Lyth’s aggregate in the series. Among openers who batted at least 9 innings in Ashes, this is the fewest. In overall, Lyth’s aggregate is 2nd lowest for an opener in a series (with minimum of 9 innings batted) after India’s CT Sarwate who scored just 97 runs during Australia’s tour in 1948.
1926 – First time since 1926, no Australian pacer has picked up minimum of 20 wickets in a series in England. Mitchell Starc is Australia’s leading wicket taker with 18 wickets in this series.
0 – Number of 50 plus scores Michael Clarke has in this series. He became only the 3rd Australian captain (top order batsman) not to score even one fifty plus in a 5-match test series (min 9 inns). In overall, he is only the 8th captain (top order batsman) and first since 2000 not to score even one fifty plus in a 5-match test series (min 9 inns).
This is also the first time Clarke failed to score even a fifty plus in a series minimum of 4 tests.
4 – Mitchell Starc became only the 4th player to score 2 fifty plus scores batting at number 9 or below in an Ashes series. In overall, he is only the 15th player to score 2 or more fifties in a Test series batting at 9 or below.
17 – Chris Rogers and David Warner pair became only the 17th opening pair to put on 5 fifty plus stand in a Test series.
