Stats: Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan’s partnership records in ICC ODI events

They both have opened the innings for India in 55 games in ODI cricket and together scored over 2586 runs.

The Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan has continued their great record in the ICC tournaments as they took on Pakistan in their opening game of the Champions Trophy 2017 continuing where they left in the 2013 edition also hosted by England.

The Rohit-Dhawan pair now has added 518 runs in the Champions Trophy, only the 2nd pair in the CT to have over 500 runs. West Indies’ Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul have 635 runs between them. Both the pairs are openers for their side.

Rohit and Dhawan put on 136 runs for the opening wicket against Pakistan, their 3rd century stand in the Champions Trophy. With this, they became the first pair with 3 century stands in the CT.

Adding the other ICC ODI tournament, the World Cup to this tally, the Rohit-Dhawan pair now has 4 century stands between them, only the 4th pair to have 4 or more century stands in the ICC ODI tournaments.

The Indian pair now has collectively added 947 runs in the ICC ODI tournaments while opening and stand at 3rd in the list of opening pairs with most runs in the ICC One-day events. They are only 64 runs behind the Indian pair of Sachin-Sehwag in the list, who are at No.2 behind Gilchrist and Hayden (1539 runs).
