With 8 wins under Chennai Super Kings (CSK) belt in the 12 games they have played so far, the men-in-yellow sit strong at the number two spot and look almost certain to play the first qualifier. The pick of the season for them has been none other than right-handed batsman from Guntur, Ambati Rayudu, who has been absolutely phenomenal throughout the season having scored over 500 runs in the tournament.

Seeing his masterclass, the head coach Stephen Fleming couldn’t resist himself and went onto to praise the 32-year-old Rayudu for his efforts on the field.  Fleming believes that Rayudu has been one of the most important reasons for CSK’s dream stint. He also praised Shane Watson, MS Dhoni, and Suresh Raina who chip in with some important runs which in a holistic way has helped their side to make it to playoffs.

In the post-match conference held in Pune, Stephen Fleming said, “He’s one of the key reasons we are sitting close to the top of the table now. He’s obviously dominated the run charts but the manner he has gone about his work, he has been positive and infectious.”

The 32-year-old has been called up for the ODI series against the Englishmen after seeing the form he is in, which has purely been on his performance in IPL-11. Fleming continued while saying, “You need one player or two to perform like that in the top-order if you want to win the IPL. At the moment Rayudu is doing that, some of the other guys like (Shane) Watson, (MS) Dhoni and Suresh Raina are chipping in strongly but Rayudu is certainly leading from the front.”

At last, Fleming mentioned the importance of the from the duo (Shane-Rayudu) are in and believes that they need to continue bit longer which will help them to win their third title. He said, “We need that form to continue, we need the others to go along with them.”
