Steve Finn says that dark times make good times satisfying: Yesterday, the belligerent English side continued its merry run at its fortress Edgbaston on the second day of 3rd Investec Ashes test match. As the day ended, Australians were on the brink of one of the most shameful defeats in the history of Ashes cricket. The Aussies ended the 2nd day with a lead of 23 runs with only 3 wickets remaining. Now, a victory looks a cakewalk for the home side. But, the probable victory would have been a day-dream if Steve Finn had not nailed the match as well as he did.
From being a player who was once trademarked as unselectable by former England ODI coach Ashley Giles, to the fiery Finn who produced a hell of a spell in the second innings against Australians says it all about how much of a journey this bloke has embarked in the moments of dusk and gloom. Finn had experienced a mechanical breakdown with his run-up and action, as he had his problems of clipping the bails at the non-striker’s end with his knee on numerous occasions in International arena.
After perpetrating two crucial top-order scalps in the first innings, Finn produced a blistering spell of 5/45 in the second innings to spoil away any possible chances of Aussies staging a comeback in the match. The youngest English bowler to take 50 test scalps told the reporters yesterday that, “There have been dark times along the way but they make the good times all the more satisfying. Every cricketer goes through ups and downs… to come out the other side is a good feeling.”
The 26-year old further added that, “Just nice to contribute to put us in a good position to win the game. Obviously some personal milestones that were nice to get over… to put a Test shirt back on. It’s been great fun the last two days.”
The same Ashley Giles who has once criticized Finn for his inefficiencies changed his colours after Finn’s mind-boggling display with the red cherry in hand.
No humble pie I'm afraid. He was. Ask him! No one is happier for him than me.? https://t.co/hdiA5G2pV7

Should I have just said he wanted to go home? Or lied about an injury? It's a professional game Kevin https://t.co/KaKBpUiGjs
