Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly hailed the duo of Nathan Lyon and Steeve O’Keefe for their outstanding display with the cricket ball in the ongoing Test series between India and Australia. The Bengal tiger said he has never seen two spinners create such panic in the Indian batting line-up.

Lyon left the whole cricketing world in awe when he single-handedly dismantled the Indian line-up on the first day of the second Test in Bangalore for a minimal score of 189. He entered the record books with his figure of 8 wickets for just 50 runs, the best ever by a visiting bowler against India.

Whereas, Steeve O’Keefe dominated the first Test match in Pune where he managed to pick up a total of 12 wickets, 6 in each innings. His bowling performance ended Team India’s 19 matches unbeaten streak in the longest version of the sport. We also saw a devastating performance by speedster Mitchell Starc in the first Test which also contributed hugely in the win for the Aussies.

Sourav Ganguly, who was present at the launch of a Cricket Academy by fellow Bengal cricketer Shiv Shankar Paul told the reporters “”I have never seen two spinners putting so much pressure from both ends before for Australia. They are bowling really well”.

The left-handed batsman who is considered to be the best Indian captain ever by many also predicted a clean sweep for the Indians in the Test series but has been proved terribly wrong by the confident Australians. They already have the first test in their pocket and are also looking the favourites to snatch the second one.

Former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif was also present at the ceremony and he expressed his happiness to meet Sourav Ganguly after a long gap under whom Kaif made his debut for India.

“It was great to catch up with Dada. We have had some wonderful memories together,” said Kaif.

Mohammad Kaif who is one of the best fielders this world has ever seen has always shared a close relationship with Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly was responsible for hunting out talents like Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh who has contributed for India hugely at a point of time. It was under Ganguly’s captaincy that Kaif and Yuvraj pulled off the impossible run chase at Lords in 2002 to win the Natwest trophy against England. The win also marked the iconic swing of the shirt by Sourav Ganguly which remains as one of the most memorable moments in cricket history.
