Australian skipper Steve Smith did an impeccable job to reclaim the Ashes urn in the ongoing 5 match Test series. Apart from his aggressive captaincy, the 28-year-old enjoyed a sublime form with the willow to guide Australia to the driver’s seat and establish their dominion in the Ashes.
Smith lived up to his reputation, being immovable with the bat against England on several occasions in the series. And up in the stands, fiancee Dani Willis has been filmed enjoying her man’s displays as much as anybody.
She met Smith in 2011 when she was a law and commerce student at Macquarie University. The pair first got to know each other at a bar in Sydney during the inaugural season of the Big Bash League. And in June this year, the cricket star proposed to his girlfriend atop the Rockefeller Centre.
The duo had a gala time in this festive season. They took to Instagram to welcome the new year. Wilis shared an image with a caption saying, “2017 the best yet. Bring on 2018!! “

The dynamic right-hander has always admitted that Willis has had a positive impact on his game. It would not be an exaggeration to say Smith’s fiancee was at least partially responsible for his stoic 141 unbeaten in the first innings at the Gabba. And having met Dani during a two-year period in the wilderness following an erratic start in the green cap, Smith eventually adopted the more patient style that earned him the test captaincy.
Shortly after being replacing Michael Clarke as captain, he had said, “She has been amazing. She’s always there for me when I’m around. It’s nice that you have some honest feedback to come home to all the time. She’s been terrific for me over the last few years.”
The team from ‘Down Under’ is currently leading the Test series 3-0 with the fifth and final Test slated to kickoff on January 4, at SCG.
