Travis Head played an exceptional inning yesterday taking his team to a commendable total after an early destructive spell from Umesh Yadav. Head played the waiting game when the team was under pressure with the wickets of the big three and counter-attacked at the right time to give his team some impetus in the inning.

Head and Mandeep Singh stitched a wonderful 71 runs partnership at a brisk pace. At one stage they were struggling at 34 for 3 but this partnership took them to a better position. However, this did not help them win the game and Head’s knock went in vain as they lost the game by 6 wickets.

Chris Lynn played a blinder on his comeback as he scored 50 in just 21 balls. “He has a reputation of being a big hitter in Big Bash League too. In IPL, he’s done the same. He is an unbelievable hitter of the ball,” said Head while talking to India Today.

Narine and Chris were involved in a record-breaking opening partnership and Head thought that the pair took the advantage of the hard new ball as he emphasised on it. “He (Lynn) has a reputation of being a big hitter in Big Bash League too. In IPL, he’s done the same. He is an unbelievable hitter of the ball,” he said.

“They just took advantage of the new hard ball. KKR had it in the first six. They put pressure back on us,” Travis explained.

This year has been a nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their form from last year was nowhere to be seen. The team from Bangalore has now lost 10 out of the 13 games and at the bottom of the ocean with just 5 points to their name.

Head said that they are enjoying as a unit off the field and are gelled together extremely well. However, they are not been able to translate the same on the field. “Nothing has changed off the field since last season. We still enjoy as a unit. But it hasn’t gelled well on the field. It happens in T20 cricket. You can’t get back the momentum back once things go bad,” he added.

He also said that this has been their worst season if we go result wise. “Result-wise, this is probably the worst season. It is disappointing result,” said Head.
