Stuart Broad feels Mohammad Amir is sorry and keen to get back on a cricket field: Recently, the ban on the tainted Pakistani trio of Mohammad Amir, Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif came to an end at midnight on 1 September 2015. But since their ban has got over there have been divided views among players and experts on whether the trio should play for Pakistan again or not. For some they have served out their ban which makes them eligible to play for the country while some believe that they should not be included in the national side ever again.

On this controversial issue the English Ashes hero of 2015 and senior player Stuart Broad has expressed his opinion. Stuart believes that the trio has served out the punishment and he considers Mohammad Amir to be genuinely apologetic. The 29-year-old English cricketer was quoted by ESPNcricinfo saying, “I genuinely don’t know what it’ll be like [facing him again]. There was obviously quite a big cloud over that Test series victory in 2010. But the ICC gave the players punishments and they are getting close to having served them”.

He further added, “I’ve seen a few interviews that he’s done and he seems sorry and keen to get back on a cricket field. But as a player you are not too bothered who you are playing against, to be honest, you go a bit internal and focus on what you do.”

Broad also opened up about the mistakes which the English side had committed during their recent series against Australia. He said, “I think the mistakes we made as an England team this summer were maybe when we focused on the Australians too much and what other teams were doing. We’ve definitely learned from that mistake and it’ll be very much about what we are doing within our changing room. What our teams are doing to take us forward. Whoever we are playing against we’ll be right on the money.”
