The bonhomie shared by England cricketers especially Alex Hales and Ben Stokes is quite electric, not just on, but off the field as well. The explosive opener and batting all-rounder duo on Tuesday engaged in a friendly banter on Twitter. This time the swashbuckling opener who has been a regular face in English coloured jersey, showed exactly how to stump Stokes.

Stuart Broad posted an image in which he asked his mates to give a tagline to James Anderson’s picture. However, the post became a way to take a dig at one another as Stokes and Hales tried their level best to make fun of the other.

Here’s the confabulation

Hales pulled a short leg as he titled the picture as “So glad I don’t have a face like @benstokes38”. To this, Ben Stokes butted in saying, “I am so glad I don’t have Hales ears, Hales nose, Hales fat sloppy arse….and his bong eyes”.

Not the one to miss a gap, Alex played over the fielder saying, “What about your hook nose, the rubbing ring around your gut and the fact you look a Nanty Haywood/ Jon Jo Shelvey love child?”

It was a declaration of war and how could Stokes not level the matters. He replied saying, “What about you being the mistake of one night stand between an Ork and Freddie Krugger and still got disowned for your looks”

Away from cricket, both the cricketers managed to find the most ‘unsuitable’ pictures to disdain the other.

When both the sides have an equal arsenal, it is in their best interest to call it a truce. They decided to shake hand and not let any further confabulation on the subject.

Next Assignment

England will be back in action in a day’s time as they take on West Indies in a three match Test series which is scheduled to start on 17th August. Ben Stokes will be a part of the white jersey, whereas, Alex Hales is expected to return in the 15-member squad for the ODI series.
