The Indian Football team made the country by becoming the Intercontinental Champions as they defeated Kenya by 2-0 in the final of the tournament on Sunday. It was a perfect outing for the Men in Blue as their skipper Sunil Chhetri led from the front and scored both the goals for his country. Among all the congratulatory messages to the team, Virat Kohli also hailed the team and the captain, especially for their efforts. However, Chhetri himself has come up with a brilliant reply on this proves the bonding between the two sportspersons.

It all started with a humble video message from the Chhetri, the captain of the national team, who almost pleaded to the fans to turn out to the Stadium in large numbers to follow the Indian team. He was eager to make a difference to the sport and promised a brilliant show from the team. His tweet was upvoted by Kohli first who urged the Indian sports lovers to support the Football team which has been bringing laurels to the country constantly.

Chhetri’s reply

Virat Kohli congratulated the Indian team and Sunil Chhetri earlier in the day and lauded the efforts of the boys. He believed that the victory will prove to be a much-needed boost to the Indian Football. “Champions!!!! Another stellar performance from our captain @chetrisunil11 and the entire team last night. This will surely provide a much-needed boost for @IndianFootball. Keep up the spirit boys. #INDvKEN,” his tweet read.

Chhetri though was quick to respond to him and came up with a quirky message for the captain of the cricket team. “Thanks, champ! Going to borrow from post-match cricket interviews when I say, “the boys played well”!” his reply read. Meanwhile, he had earlier thanked the whole country for all the support after the victory last night and was overwhelmed with the huge turnout in the Stadium.
