Team India is currently in England for a five-match Test series against the hosts. The visiting team’s campaign has been phenomenal so far as the Three Lions faced humiliation in front of their home crowd. While the first game ended in a draw at Trent Bridge, the second Test saw India registering a stunning win at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. With Virat Kohli’s men putting up such a sensational show, social media has been flooded with praises for them.

In the middle of this, however, some superimposed pictures of Indian cricketers have gone viral. These morphed pictures have been posted by a verified Instagram page named Alternative Commentary Collective (ACC). In the edited snaps, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami can be seen sporting puffed-up cheeks.

The same page trolled Virat Kohli a couple of months ago

While some found these pictures hilarious, several slammed the Instagram page for body-shaming the Indian cricketers. Notably, this same page controversially trolled Virat Kohli following India’s eight-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final in June.

In the post, a young woman was seen to be holding onto a strap around the neck of an old man. While the man was shown Kohli, the woman represented Kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson, who dismissed the Indian skipper twice in the summit clash.

Coming back to the ongoing Test series, India are 1-0 up in the five-match series. This means a win in the third Test would give them an unassailable 2-0 lead. Hence, stakes are incredibly high in the upcoming game and both teams must leave no stones unturned to emerge victoriously. Needless to mention, the home team would be high on confidence as they didn’t do much wrong so far in this series.

While openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have shone in the batting department, the pace-bowling quartet has spitted venom with the red cherry. However, writing off England won’t be wise for the visiting team. After all, the home advantage is still in their favour. Not to forget, veterans like skipper Joe Root and James Anderson were impressive in the previous games. Meanwhile, the third Test gets underway on Wednesday (August 25) at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
