Suresh Raina is indeed one of the finest Indian cricketers ever and his numbers are impressive as well. The left-handed batsman has tormented many formidable bowling line-ups in his illustrious career. At the same time, his ability to bowl handy off-spins and create magic on the field has also helped India on many occasions. Besides being a genius cricketer, however, the former Indian international is known to be a jolly and fun-loving personality.

In his book “Believe: What Life and Cricket Taught Me”, the Chennai Super Kings star mentioned a hilarious incident involving India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. It was 2006 and Team India was on a flight for some cricket assignment. Raina and Tendulkar were also on the flight as per the book, they were seated in the business class.

When Sachin Tendulkar pranked air hostess

Raina recalled that an air hostess came up to Tendulkar for an autograph. However, she then turned to Raina and addressed him as Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin’s son. “Hi Arjun, How are you? How is your mom?” she said as Raina recalls. Before the left-handed batsman could clarify anything, Tendulkar intervened to have some fun. The Master Blaster said that both of them are doing fine but Anjali (Sachin’s wife) was upset with him (Arjun) for not focusing on his studies lately.

The southpaw added that it was much later the air hostess realized her mistake. She saw someone clicking a picture with him that made her realise that he wasn’t Arjun but an Indian cricketer himself. The air hostess later came up to him and apologise. Although Raina said that it was okay, she evidently was embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Raina will next be seen in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The star batsman, who retired from international cricket last year, played some handy knocks in the first half of the season. As a result, CSK won five of their first seven games. The MS Dhoni-led side was, in fact, second in the team standings at the time of the season suspension. Notably, the UAE leg of the competition will get underway on September 19.
