India registered an emphatic win on the fourth day in Dharamsala as they reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after 4 years. It wasn’t an easy win as the Australians battled hard in all the 4 games but a collective performance from Indians ensured they won the series 2-1 after losing the first Test in Pune.

Suresh Raina, who arrived in Rajkot to start the preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season ten, where he will be leading the Gujarat Lions for the last time believed India deserved to win the series. “It was a collective effort, Indian team played as a unit and deserved to win the Test series against Australia,” Raina told reporters.

The captain of Gujarat Lions was all praises for his teammate Ravindra Jadeja for his staggering effort in the series. Jaddu picked up 25 wickets in the series and scored two half-centuries for which he was adjudged the Man of the Match in the final as well as the Man of the Series.

“Jadeja has been in terrific form, I congratulate him for his all-round performance that helped India to regain Border-Gavaskar trophy and Gujarat Lions will keen to take advantage of his great form,” the lad from Uttar Pradesh added.

He must be delighted with the outstanding form that Jadeja is currently enjoying and would be hoping for similar returns when he joins the Lions’ squad to play in the IPL.

Raina who has been out of the Indian ODI squad for quite some time must be hoping for redemption in this year’s T20 league. He was recently removed from BCCI’s central contract and now has all the more reasons to make a comeback this year.

On the other hand, Lions had a tremendous run in the previous season as they finished on top of the points table after the league stage. But they failed to win in the playoffs and were knocked out from the race of the final. This year, they would be looking to cover the extra mile and win the league.
