Suresh Raina training in Netherlands to hone his skills: Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina is gearing himself up for the upcoming cricketing season training in the lay-off time in Netherlands. Raina is there in the Dutch capital, undergoing a month-long high intensity training at the synthetic pitches of Amsterdam Cricket Club (ACC).
Raina was quoted by Press Trust of India saying that, “With the new season around the corner, I am determined, hungry and eager to play the highest form of the game for India.”
It is notable that the Dutch team has qualified for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in India next year. Raina further said that, “It is wonderful to be able to train with total intensity with the Dutch national team since I want to hit the ground running when the domestic season starts with a series of tournaments across the country in Chennai, Chandigarh and Hyderabad.”

The southpaw also expressed his gratitude towards the Dutch authorities who have allowed him to practice with the national team. “I am thankful to the Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB) and Amsterdam Cricket Club for letting me use their admirable facilities. I also thank the Dutch medium fast bowlers for giving me the opportunity to practice against them on synthetic pitches” Raina said.
