1. Gujarat dominate Vidarbha
Gujarat registered their first win of the tournament today. The Gujarat side batted first and set a target of 175 runs for Vidarbha, who won the toss and elected to field first. Parthiv Patel was the star with the bat and scored a fluent 59 off 38 balls. His efforts were ably backed by C. Gandhi (30 off 19 balls) and C. Juneja (37 off 35 balls). The bowlers did an equally commendable job as RP Singh (3/26), P Patel (3/36) and J Bumrah (3/16) knocked down Vidarbha as the team could only put up 114 in 18.4 overs in reply to the Gujarat’s total.

2. Bowlers ensure an easy victory for Hyderabad
The Himachal Pradesh team was not able to take advantage of the brilliant work of their bowlers. Himachal won the toss and fielded first. The decision proved beneficial as they restricted Hyderabad for a low total of 140 runs. However, the target was made to look tough by Himachal batsman. They batted like rookie’s and could only score 126/9 in 20 overs; thus, losing the game by 14 runs in the end.

3. Bhajji ensures an effortless win for Punjab
Punjab was asked to chase a lowly target of 106 after they put J&K in to bat. Apart from Bandeep Singha (40 runs in 22 balls) and Ian Chauhan (39 runs from 44 balls), no J&K batsman could manage a double digit score. Harbhajan Singh was unplayable today and bowled 16 dot balls and claimed 3 wickets, giving away only 8 runs. The target was simple and was easily overhauled by Mandeep Singh (58runs from 45 balls) and Pargat Singh (44 runs from 34 balls).

4. Madhya Pradesh rattle Goa
Madhya Pradesh won against Goa in a low-scoring battle at the Motibaug cricket ground, Vadodara. MP bowlers proved to be too difficult for the Goa batsmen as they could post only 104/6 after batting out the 20 overs. Deepraj Gaonkar (44 runs from 35 balls) was the sole successful batsman in their side today. In reply, Zafar Ali (27 runs off 17) and Jalaj Saxena (24 runs off 30) started off well but could not sustain. Naman Ojha (20 runs off 13) could not stay till the end. But, Harpreet Bhatia and Venkatesh Iyer batted nicely and finished the job for Madhya Pradesh.

5. Karnataka clinch a close win
This was the most interesting match of today as Karnataka faced Mumbai at DRIEMS ground Cuttack. Karnataka was put into bat by Mumbai who won the toss. The start wasn’t that good but Uthappa (30 from 25 balls) and M. Taha (37 from 32 balls) provided stability. In the end, Karnataka posted 162 in 20 overs with some help from the middle order. Mumbai got off to a slow start but Aditya Tare and Shreyas Iyer upped the run rate after the fall of Akhil Herwadkar. Abhishek Nayar joined in later and contributed a quickfire 49 runs from 32 balls. However, all these effort were not enough as Mumbai fell short by just one run in the end. Pravin Tambe was run out by Vinay Kumar when only two runs required off the last ball.

6. Uttar Pradesh defeat Odisha
It was a good day at the field for Uttar Pradesh as they snapped an easy 32 runs win overs Odisha. UP managed 150/5 in 20 overs after they were made to bat first by their opposition. Eklavya Dwivedi (47 runs from 46 balls) and Prashant Gupta 53 runs from 40 balls were to performers from them. Odisha came out to bat in reply and were off to a bad start and could only manage 118/8 in 20 overs eventually.

7. Rahil Shah dismantles Bengal
Rahil Shah’s outstanding bowling effort guided Tamil Nadu to an easy win. TN had set a target of 152 after batting first with the help of ABinav Mithun’s 47 and contribution’s from the middle order. In reply, Bengal were never in the competition and lost a cluster of wickets. The only significant partnership they had was of 49 runs between Sudip Chatterjee and Sreevats Goswami.

8. Jharkhand win in a trouble free chase
Tripura displayed a decent batting performance today after being put in to bat by Jharkhand. The Jharkhand team managed 146/7 in 20 overs with the help of RA Dey’s fantastic knock of 77 runs off just 50 balls. Jharkhand was undeterred and the intentions of the openers were clear as they batted painlessly and knocked Tripura out of the match with a 103-run partnership. Virat Singh (65 runs from 48 balls) was the only wicket to fall. Ishank Jaggi (75 from 54 balls) and Saurabh Tiwary (7 from 9 balls), however, continued batting dominantly and chased down the target with nine wickets in hand.

9. Nathu Singh’s 4/13 in vain as Rajasthan fails to chase a undemanding target
Kerala today won the match despite ordinary performance with the bat as their bowlers made up for the inability of the batsmen. Batting first, Kerala could only make 129/7 in 20 overs with the help of Rohan Prem (38 runs from 35 balls) and Sanju Samson (25 runs from 17 balls). However, P Padmanabhan (3/22) and Rohan Prem (2/21) enabled Kerala to defend the small total and win the match by 18 runs. Rajat Bhatia was the sole batsman who batted with some defiance for Rajasthan as the rest failed.

10. Delhi register a record-breaking win
Delhi scored a mammoth 236/9 against Andhra Pradesh, beating the record for the highest team score at the tournament. The previous highest was 233/3 by Gujarat against Kerala in 2013. Middle order batsman Nitish Rana, who scored 97 off 40 balls, smashing 8 sixes and 8 fours and was the star of the match. Andhra, in reply meekly surrendered and were all out for 125 giving Delhi a victory by a whopping margin of 111-run.

11. Pandya stars in Baroda win
Baroda defeated Railways in a relatively easy game. Baroda powered by Hardik Pandya (54 from 44 balls) and Yusuf Pathan (41 from 41 balls) put up a decent total of 142 on the scoreboard. In reply, Railways fancied their chances until V Singh (46 from 43 balls) was at the crease. No other batsman could actually play any vital knock as Railways failed to chase the target and lost the game by just 9 runs.

12. Naik powers Maharashtra to straightforward win
A target of 160 runs proved to be too good for Services as they lost the match by 31 runs. Batting first Maharashtra posted 159/8 in 20 overs riding on the back of NS Naik’s 69 from 46 balls. Maharashtra struck early blows and Services were reduced to 8/2 at the start. The team couldn’t fully recover from there onwards and were all out for 128 runs.
