Unmukt Chand’s century in vain as Gujarat win:
Unmukt Chand’s blazing knock of 103 off 58 balls helped Delhi post 170/5 in 20 overs after being put into bat first by Gujarat. However, his knock went in vain as Gujarat put together a collective batting effort and chased down the target easily in just 17.4 overs with 8 wickets in hand. The Delhi bowlers were rendered ineffective after Gujarat openers started off with a 78-run partnership while PK Panchal (69 from 42 balls) was the top scorer for them.
Brief Scores:
Delhi- 170/5 in 20 overs (U Chand 103; HP Patel 1/27)
Gujarat- 171/2 in 17.4 overs (PK Panchal 69; P Awana 1/23)
Skipper leads from the front to overcome Kerala challenge:
Mumbai, despite having a shaky start, steadied themselves with the help of Aditya Tare’s 46-ball 71 runs knock while chasing a competitive target of 161 set by Kerala. Handy contributions from S Lad (36 from 31 balls) and Abhishek Nayar (38 from 20 balls) also played an important role in the chase. Earlier, Rohan Prem (69 from 45 balls) and Sachin Baby (32 from 26 balls) took Kerala to a comfortable total of 160/7 in 20 overs. The end result could have been much better but the middle order could not give the late push to the scoreboard.
Brief Scores:
Kerala- 160/7 in 20 overs (R Prem 69; Trivedi 3/34)
Mumbai- 164/4 in 19.1 overs (Tare 71; Krishnan 2/36)
Uttar Pradesh thrash Jharkhand
Uttar Pradesh’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss was perfectly backed up by their bowlers who restricted Jharkhand to a modest score of 133/7 after 20 overs. In reply, Uttar Pradesh openers Prashant Gupta (42 from 41 balls) and Samarth Singh (64 from 49 balls) put together an opening stand of 112 runs for the first wicket and helped UP cruise past the target without any hassle.
Brief Scores
Jharkhand: 133/7 in 20 overs (Shasheem 40; Mishra 2/14)
Uttar Pradesh: 134/1 in 16.5 overs (S Singh 64; K Singh 1/18)
Hardik Pandya blitz guns down Vidarbha
Baroda was asked to chase 163 runs for victory by Vidarbha. The start was not great and the match looked to be tilting towards Vidarbha side. However, the equation changed after the arrival of Hardik Pandya. The required run rate was towering when had just entered. But, Pandya took no time to dominate and change the course of the match totally in favor of Baroda. His team chased down the target with an over to spare as a result of the 46 balls blitzkrieg innings of 86 runs studded with 8 sixes and 3 boundaries.
Brief Scores:
Vidarbha: 162/5 in 20 overs (G Satish 54; Swapnil Singh 2/41)
