Maratha Arabians have announced that West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been roped in for the upcoming Heera T10 Cricket League. Bravo, who is known for his brilliance in the field, will replace Sri Lanka’s legendary cricketer Kumar Sangakkara. The former Lankan batsman has been ruled out citing personal reasons. The six-team tournament will be starting from 14-17 December.

Former Indian explosive opener Virender Sehwag is the icon and skipper of the franchise co-owned by Parvez Khan of Pacific Ventures, Bollywood Actor, Producer and Director Sohail Khan and Ali Tumbi of Aqua Properties. Legendary former pacer Wasim Akram is the mentor of the side while Dougie Brown will be the assistant coach.

Sehwag said that it is unfortunate not to have Sangakkara in the team but at the same time he feels Bravo is a top-class all-rounder and his contribution will be valuable. Bravo is one of the most sought-after players when it comes to the shortest format of the game.

Dwayne is one of the genuine all-rounders in limited-overs cricket who has really made a mark for himself. I am sure that Dwayne will add a lot of value to the side. We welcome him into the franchise with a lot of excitement.”

Maratha Arabians Co-owner Parvez Khan said: “Wasimbhai and Viru are working together to come up with an effective strategy. I am sure Dwayne will fit into the scheme of things very well. He comes with loads of experience and adds value to any side that he plays in.”
