The discarded English all-rounder was picked by the Bengal Tigers to give themselves a fine hard-hitting batsman who could come in handy with the ball in hand as well. As it turned out, the 33-year-old was a complete flop in all senses of the word.

He performed so bad, that his fellow teammate in the league and former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi, has three times the runs Wright has scored, to his name! The right-hander managed to compile just 39 runs in the tournament at a meagre average of 7.80 runs per dismissal.

His strike-rate of around 121 didn’t help his cause either, as he was finally dropped by the Tigers in their eighth match. Having these numbers and coming out to be a top-performer would have surprised many, but since this isn’t the season of surprises, Luke Wright comes in our list of flops this season.
