The second edition of the T10 League is set to get underway tomorrow. The tournament will be a witness to 29 matches and will continue until Sunday, December 2. A total of eight teams will fight to win the championship out of which fours team would progress to the second round. Kerala Kings won the inaugural edition, defeating Punjabi Legends in the final by eight wickets.

After Sindhis and Rajputs lock horns in the first match of this season, the defending champions would be up against Pakhtoons at Sharjah International Cricket Stadium. Being a short format, teams are likely to send their power-hitters at the top of the order. Last time, Pakhtoons bowed out after their defeat against the Legends and they would be looking to go ahead and win the trophy.

Pitch

Sharjah has recently witnessed some high-scoring affairs in some of the domestic T20 events. Batsmen made hay on wickets, which didn’t have much to offer for the bowlers. The second match would be played late night and a run-fest is expected to pan out. Bowlers would come under the pump and the short boundaries won’t make their work any easier.

Chris Gayle and Imran Nazir would most probably open the batting with Paul Stirling coming at number three. Kieron Pollard, skipper Eoin Morgan and all-rounder Fabian Allen would have a task on their hands. Wayne Parnell and Sohail Tanvir add depth to the batting. All of Parnell, Allen and Tanvir can bowl as well. Naveed and Curran are the other pacers with Lamichhane as the spinner.

Shafiqullah Shafaq is the designated wicketkeeper. David Willey and Gulbadin Naib are the all-rounders. Mohammad Irfan and RP Singh are the specialist pacers with Ashraf being the spinner. The team has Shahid Afridi as their captain.
