Another three games were played in the T10 League 2019 on the last day of the Group stage games. Shane Watson’s Deccan Gladiators met the Karnataka Tuskers in the first encounter. A combined effort from all their batsmen guided the Tuskers to 110/3 after they opted to bat first. Johnson Charles was the highest scorer with 35 runs while Hashim Amla was unbeaten on 32 runs.
The Gladiators were put under the pump during the chase as the Tuskers got some early breakthroughs. The team was down to 37/4 even before the halfway mark of the innings. But Kieron Pollard and Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to the rescue. While the West Indies limited-overs captain remained unbeaten on 45 off 22 balls, Bhanuka raced his way to 27 from just 7 balls. Thus, the team completed the chase with 9 balls left.
Chris Lynn blew apart Team Abu Dhabi is the second game of the day. His 91 runs from just 30 balls guided Maratha Arabians to 138/2 in 10 overs. Despite their best efforts, this target was well beyond their reach for Team Abu Dhabi. Luke Wright (40 runs), Moeen Ali (31 runs) and Lewis Gregory (23 runs) made important contributions. But the team lost by 24 runs.
The last game of the day was yet another action-packed encounter which finished in a draw. After they chose to bat first, the Bangla Tigers struggled their way to 108/7 in 10 overs. With 27 runs, Rilee Rossouw was the highest scorer of the innings. In reply, the Delhi Bulls got off to a great start courtesy Kusal Perera’s 18-ball 43. But still, it is quite puzzling that they failed to get over the line despite Eoin Morgan staying unbeaten on 27 off 15 balls. This match finished in a draw.
