Rain played a spoilsport on the sixth day of the T10 League 2019. Two out of the three games yielded no results due to some relentless rain. In the first game that was played between the Karnataka Tuskers and Maratha Arabians, the latter opted to bat first. The team did a fabulous job in the first innings. Chris Lynn continued with his good form and scored 61 off just 31 balls. The best knock, however, came from Adam Lyth. He raced his way to 50 from only 20 deliveries.
The stage was set for an exciting contest after the Arabians got to 129/4 in 10 overs. However, the rain started pouring in right at this point in time. As a result, the second innings couldn’t be played and the match had to be called off. Both these sides shared a point each.
The second game that was played on the day was by far the most exciting one of the tournament. Batting first, the Bangla Tigers got to a good start. Their openers Andre Fletcher and Rilee Rossouw scored 22 and 21 runs respectively off 15 balls each. But both of them fell in quick successions. The middle-order was torn apart by the bowlers and most of the batsmen got out for single-digit scores. They weren’t heading towards a big total. But Robbie Frylinck came out of nowhere and scored 36 off 12 balls to guide his team to 102.
Andre Russell, with a 25-ball 41 was the highest scorer for the Northern Warriors. However, it was quite stunning that the team failed to get over the line. Just 13 runs were required in the last over. But David Wiese bowled a stunning spell. He picked up two wickets off the first two balls and conceded only 6 runs to hand his team a 6-run win.
In the last game of the day, Team Abu Dhabi got to 118/4 batting first. It was a combined effort from their batsmen with Wayne Madsen leading from the front. But the chase couldn’t get completed due to rain. Interestingly, the rain stopped and even then the match didn’t begin as the organisers didn’t print DLS sheets.
