We’re already one week into the T10 League 2019 and the tournament is progressing just as fast as this format of the game. As usual, another three games were played on the day. In the first match between the Delhi Bulls and Maratha Arabians, the latter posted the highest score this season. ‘Lynnsanity’ has continued in this game as well which helped them post such a big score.
Chris Lynn mustered 89 runs from 33 balls while Adam Lyth and Dasun Shanaka scored 20 from 8 and 18 from 6 respectively. Thus, the team got to 146/4 in 10 overs. Despite their best efforts, this target was well beyond the reach for the Bulls. Kusal Perera top-scored with an unbeaten 45 while Sherfane Rutherford scored 41 runs from 16 balls. Yet, the team lost by 30 runs.
It was a Tom Banton-special in the second game of the day. The England cricketer scored 80 runs from just 28 balls. Contributions from the other batsmen as well pushed the team’s score to 130. While they should have had more, they kept losing wickets regularly. In reply, the Karnataka Tuskers could only score 98 runs. There were some very handy contributions. But none worthy enough to get the team a victory.
The final game of the day was all about one-man shows. For the Northern Warriors, Lendl Simmons scored 70 runs and helped the team get to 107/5 in 10 overs. Nicholas Pooran was the only other batsman to reach the double figures. For the Deccan Gladiators, Shane Watson scored 75 runs from 35 balls. No other batsman got to double figures at least. Ultimately, Watson’s effort went in vain as his team lost by 10 runs.
