The second season of the T10 League is currently in progress in the United Arab Emirates where the Punjabi Legends locked horns with Maratha Arabians in the fifth match. Both the teams were playing their opening game of the season and in the end, it was the Legends who came out on top with a thumping 43-run victory. However, more than the victory, Kamran Akmal missing his brother Umar Akmal’s stumping was the talk of the town after the match.

The incident took place in the eighth over of the innings when the Punjabi side were 80/4 and Rashid Khan was delivering the second over of his spell. Umar, on the other hand, was looking good after coming in to bat at number four. On the fourth ball of the over, Umar stepped out to Rashid who cleverly bowled a wide ball. Expectedly, the batsman was found wanting and missed it completely.

Kamran, Arabaians’ wicket-keeper, on most days, would’ve got hold of the ball and affect a stumping. However, this time around, he didn’t even make a clear attempt to gather the ball and the first slip had to collect it. The dangerous-looking Umar Akmal was reprieved when Rashid should’ve got his number. Though the Pakistan batsman was dismissed in the very next over after scoring 31 runs off just 18 balls.

Here’s the video:

Poor outing for Kamran

Kamran Akmal was at the receiving end on the social media after a shoddy effort behind the stumps as many felt that he deliberately missed the stumping. He also had a forgettable outing with the bat bagging a three-ball duck and was sent back by Chris Jordan to leave his team reeling at 44/4 in the fifth over of the innings. Arabians never looked like chasing the total of 122 runs as they skittled for 78 runs in the 10th over.
