A disturbing video of a man behaving inappropriately with a fellow woman spectator during Surrey and Middlesex’s Vitality T20 Blast fixture, played on June 25 at the Kennington Oval in London, has surfaced online.

The match between the two started with Surrey electing to field first upon winning the toss. Led by half-centuries from Stevie Eskinazi, who struck a 51-ball 64 including seven fours and a six, and Daryl Mitchell, who got a 36-ball 58 with five fours and three sixes, Middlesex scored a competitive target of 174//7 from their allotted overs.

The two added 116 runs for the third wicket after the team lost opener Joe Cracknell and No. 3 batter Nick Gubbins both in the same over of Will Jacks, who conceded only seven runs from his two overs including a maiden. It was Gus Atkinson, however, who did the most damage with the ball, picking 4/36 from his four-over spell.

Ollie Pope’s half-century take Surrey home

Out to chase, Surrey’s tone was set by a 74-run opening stand between Jacks and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, with the former assuming the role of the aggressor. Hitting five fours and three sixes, Jacks raced off to 47 off just 26 before Gubbins dismissed him to break the stand. His partner Smith, on the other hand, scored 27 off 23.

Surrey’s chase, which looked on track as long as the openers made hay in the middle, was suddenly shaking with Nathan Sowter and Luke Hollman making inroads and reducing them to 115/5 in the 15th over. With both Laurie Evans and Rory Burns back in the hut cheaply, it came down to Ollie Pope’s valiant half-century in a 60-run stand for the sixth wicket alongside Jamie Overton that kept his team alive in the contest.

Pope got to his half-century and finished unbeaten on 52 off 35, while a quick cameo from Overton, as he smashed three sixes in his 10-ball 24 meant that Surrey eventually passed the target with an over to spare.

The game, although, would not be remembered for pure cricketing action owing to the unquestionably foul behaviour of a pervert spectator who took the point of consent for a toss, acting in a deplorable way with a woman, highlighting in broad daylight how cry-worthy the state of affairs in the world that aims to protect and respect women truly are.
