The Panthers have gotten off to a flying start in the tournament this year. Their card reads, “played two and won two”. Meanwhile, Andheri started their campaign with a loss to the Supersonics. Thereafter, they’ve won two back to back games and in doing so have turned their tournament back on track.

Team News

North Mumbai Panthers

For Panthers, their openers Prithvi Shaw and Vikrant Auti have provided the side with explosive starts in both their games so far. Thereafter, the middle order has chipped in with vital runs while making it possible to post in excess of 170 runs in both the games so far.

On the bowling front, the trio of Sawant, Attarwala and Dake have struck at regular intervals to cripple the opposition. Things, therefore, are looking good in the Panthers’ camp thus far. Their batting has clicked and their bowling is holding up as well. Oozing with confidence, they will look to make it three on the trot in this fixture against Andheri

The squad:

Prithvi Shaw, Sumeet Dhekale, Vishal Dhagaonkar, Aashray Sajnani, Aditya Rane, Atif Attarwala, Karan Nande, Moondeep Mangela, Neil Narvekar, Rahul Sawant, Sairaj Patil, Shashikant Kadam, Vikrant Auti, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Patil, Onkar Gurav, Swapnil Salvi, Jude Singh, Prathamesh Dake and Pravin Tambe.

ARCS Andheri

For Andheri, Akhil Herwadkar has emerged as a star with the bat. After three solid knocks of 26, 56 and 79*, he can become the go-to man for Andheri. The worry for Andheri however, is that barring Herwadkar, only Shubham Ranjane has shown some amount of spunk with the bat.

As for bowling, Andheri banks heavily on the duo of Tushar Deshpande and Iqbal Abdulla. After a poor start in the first game, Abdulla has come back quite well with strong spells in the second and the third matches. Also, Azhar Ansari is a key man for Andheri. He can throw his bat around towards the fag end of the innings and bowl important spells as well.

The squad:

Akhil Herwadkar, Kevin Almeida, Praful Waghela, Tanmay Mishra, Amogh Bhatkal, Azhar Ansari, Gaurav Jathar, Iqbal Abdulla, Kadir Patel, Pankaj Jaiswal, Shubham Ranjane, Vaidik Murkar, Sufiyan Shaikh, Sumit Meher, Ankur Singh, Atharva Poojari, Salil Agharkar, Tushar Deshpande and Vineet Sinha.

Top Picks

Prithvi Shaw: with scores of 22 (12) in the first game and then 53 (31), the young opener is not holding back one bit while blitzing his way through the power-plays. His intent is clear and with this sort of start, there sure is more to come

Atif Attarwala: with figures of 3/37 and 3/34, Attarwala has stood out as the Panthers’ leading bowler so far. He might just be a tad bit expensive but he sure does pick up wickets. So do look out for him when forming your Fantain XI

Ankhil Herwadkar: Herwadkar has put his hand up for Andheri and delivered every time that he’s stepped out to bat. With two half-centuries and a 26 after three-games, things are looking good for Herwadkar

Iqbal Abdulla: after a rather forgettable outing in the first game, the left-arm orthodox spinner has come back really well while posting an economy rate of under four-runs-per-over. Now that he’s hit his straps, expect him to keep up the good show

Sufiyan Shaikh: Andheri has banked on the wicket-keeper batsman to get the team off to flyers. And Shaikh has shown the propensity to do just that. He has gotten off to good starts in two out of the three games so far, so you could well see that big one from Shaikh just around the corner.
