Defending champions West Indies have made a disastrous start to their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign. Facing last edition’s finalists England in their opening clash, the Caribbean side suffered a batting failure and subsequently a humiliating six-wicket defeat. This loss has also highlighted that West Indies’ batting line-up might be destructive but is also one-dimensional. On the other hand, England would be delighted with their performance.

Speaking of how the game unfolded, England won the toss and elected to bowl at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While West Indies had planned to display some fireworks, none of their batters could do much. They apparently paid the price of not showing application on challenging conditions. Adil Rashid ran through their line-up and took four wickets in no time.

As a result, West Indies got bundled out for 55. Although England’s chase didn’t go smoothly as they lost four wickets inside 40 runs. However, the Caribbean bowlers didn’t literally have anything to defend. Subsequently, the Three Lions crossed the line with 11.4 overs to spare.
