Although India couldn’t live up to the expectations in the T20 World Cup 2021, they finish the competition on a winning note. The Men in Blue thrashed Namibia by nine wickets in their last league-stage fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This game also brought curtains to an era as Virat Kohli led India for the very last time in T20I cricket.

While he’ll continue to play the format, one won’t see him donning the captaincy hat. Nevertheless, he would be pretty pleased by the game India’s last fixture in the gala tournament panned out. Speaking of the proceedings, the coin landed in India’s favour and Kohli had no hesitation in fielding first. The bowlers lived up to the expectations and took regular wickets. Spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets apiece.

Although Namibia somehow managed to post 132/8 in their allotted 20 overs, India chased the target with minimal hassle. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul slammed half-centuries as India crossed the line in 15.2 overs, winning the contest by nine wickets.
