T20 World Cup 2021: Predicting semi-finalists of the tournament

The most awaited cricketing event of the year, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is scheduled from 17th October to 14th November in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Top 12 teams across the world will fight for the title of the best T20I team.

Every ball is going to be extremely intense as this is the shortest format of the game where the best players in the world are playing against each other and giving everything for glory. Teams are divided into two groups. Group 1 consists of Australia, England, South Africa, West Indies & two teams from Qualifiers of the T20 World Cup. Group 2 consists of Afghanistan, India, New Zealand, Pakistan & two teams from Qualifiers.

All teams have the capability and resources to beat any team on a given day. The beauty of this format is that there are no out and out favourites of a particular tournament. Some teams may be stronger than others on paper but you just never know what will happen in this dynamic format. 1. West Indies

The defending champions led by Kieron Pollard, one of the best T20 players ever, are looking as strong as ever. With the likes of experienced campaigners Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle back in the squad and delivering the goods for West Indies, they are on the right track to defend their title.

They have the most number of match winners. It’s just about one player’s night & that’s all that is required for them to win a match. Experienced campaigners are complemented extremely well by young players like Nicholas Pooran, Ewin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, and Fabian Allen.

Though spin bowling is a bit of a weak link for them, but with the likes of Fabian Allen & Hayden Walsh Jr delivering for them is a great sign and if teams don’t come in with the right mindset, don’t be surprised if the Caribbean boys are successful in winning their third T20 WC title.
