Jos Buttler was in ravishing form in England’s Super 12 encounter against the Australian side in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. The right-hander scored a quickfire 71* at a strike rate in excess of 200 to help England to a crushing win over the Australian side.

During his innings, Buttler hit Mitchell Starc for 2 huge sixes that sailed over mid-wicket. Starc steamed in and bowled both the deliveries just outside off stump. And on both occasions, Buttler cleared his front leg out of the way and smacked the ball into the stands.

When the footage of the ball that had sailed into the stands was shown, Shane Watson mistook the footage as that of the moon as the ball was shown in a zoomed-in frame. In fact, Watson said on air “Isn’t that incredible, the beauty of the earth that we live on,” remarked Watson.

Jos Buttler’s ravishing innings helps England trounce Australia

Jos Buttler played a scintillating knock for the England side in their battle against Australia. The Australian side produced a disappointing performance with the bat. Aaron Finch and his men could only post a total of 125 on the board.

And, it was the Buttler blitzkrieg that decimated the kangaroos. Buttler scored a 32-ball 71* and plundered 5 fours and 5 sixes in his stay out in the middle.

Apart from Buttler, the likes of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow also contributed useful cameos as well, as the England side beat Australia with 8 wickets in hand. England are now comfortably perched at the top of the points table in Group 2, having won all the 3 matches that they have played so far.

Eoin Morgan and his men will next be seen in action on 1st November 2021 when they lock horns against the Sri Lankan side. The match between England and Sri Lanka will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Ground.
