The T20 World Cup is currently up in the UAE and teams are putting in their best to turn tables in their favour. West Indies are all set to play their next game against Bangladesh and will be eyeing planning and techniques which can fetch them their first victory of the tournament. Though West Indies stand to be the defending champions and the only team to have won the tournament twice, they are still searching for their maiden victory this time around.

West Indies and Bangladesh have lost both of their opening games and Pollard and his men have to bring more intent on the table to strike a comeback. If the Caribbean do not dominate this game, their chances of propelling to the other round will stand slim, and hence, their game changers need to rise to the occasion big time. Tracking their latest development, Obed McCoy has been ruled out of the event and Jason Holder has been named as his replacement in the team.

Openers (Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis)

Though West Indies lost their last clash against South Africa, Lewis was very much perfect with his batting game as he smashed a half-century to let West Indies post a fine total towards the end. Simmons has been a great asset for them but he is still to strike in the 2021 T20 WC. However, if one of them fires in the next game, they can turn the game easily.

Middle Order (Nicholas Pooran, Chris Gayle, and Kieron Pollard)

The middle-order problems are also very much troubling this time around to the West Indies team. None of the batters are able to read the situation and perform accordingly. While Pooran has been struggling with the bat since IPL 2021, Gayle is also taking some time to get back to his usual tactics.

Pollard contributed with a cameo in the last game and he needs to do that better in the games coming up. He is handy with some overs as well and does it well while leading his side. Though Pooran has been failing with the bat for a long time now, he might not be dropped for being their specialist wicketkeeper.

All-rounder (Roston Chase, Andre Russell, and Dwayne Bravo)

Chase might be given a chance in the next game owing to his potential in both departments of the game. He was one of the leading run-scorers in the CPL 2021 and did well West Indies in the warm-up game too. Even Russell needs to shine with the bat now in order to save West Indies falling on the sidelines.

Bravo who has been sparkling since CPL followed by IPL 2021 stands to be their safest pick as he can turn the game while stepping up in any of the departments of the game. While he can start firing with the bat towards the end, the last game saw his bowling brilliance where he conceded at5.75.

Bowlers (Ravi Rampaul, Akeal Hosein, Hayden Walsh Jr)

Hosein and Rampaul are likely to go up in the next game and both of them appeared on smooth lines in the last game too. Apart from bowling, Hosein is quite athletic on-field and keeps giving glimpses of the game by pulling off some blinders.

Hayden Walsh did great for his team during the Australia series at home. He got his chance in the last game and might get a chance in the next game against Bangladesh too. He can be useful in the UAE conditions and especially when their next action is going to get staged in Sharjah.
