Match Preview:

It has been such an entertaining series, hasn’t it? A keenly contested affair with every side getting the better of the other at some point or the other. Just as it looked that Ireland and Scotland will stroll their way into the finals, Netherland, riding on the back on an imperious 144-run stand between Ben Cooper and Max O’Dowd scripted a great renaissance to oust hosts Ireland.

And, so it is all to play for both sides heading into the last league-stage encounter on Friday. The last time these two sides met, Calum McLeod’s 44-ball 72 was trumped by the all-round display of Gareth Delany (52 off 28 balls, 2-31) and Andrew Balbirnie’s 32-ball-64.

Weather Condition/Report:

Weather continues to be bright and sunny in Dublin. As has been the case throughout this week, Friday is expected to be another gorgeous day for playing cricket with maximum temperatures hovering around 18 degrees and lowest at 12 degrees.

Pitch Condition/Report:

3-252, 7-194, 7-193, 6-194, 7-181 and 4-183. If that does reveal a story about the nature of the pitch, nothing will. Flat Pitch, lush-green outfields, small boundaries: A recipe for disaster for the bowlers. Nothing but the same is expected tomorrow.

Average first innings score: 215 (Record in T20I matches since 2018)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 6 Lost – 4

Team News:

Will be added when there’s an update.

Expert Advice:

Considering the pitch is as flat as a highway, picking more top-order batsman and making them captain/vice-captain will be a good strategic punt.

Probable Winners

It should be a humdinger of an encounter, considering how evenly contested both teams are. However, with Ireland having won their most recent encounter against Scotland, we pick them as the starting favorites for the game.
