When the post of Hopkins was caught in the eyes of Tammy Beaumont, who is a female cricketer from England. She took a stance and defended the trans cricketer. She felt that cricket is a sport for all and no one should be excluded on the basis of their gender and it is unfair to share such opinions and articles on social media because this will only add to the discrimination and abuse she’s already come across and wrote:

“1/3 Completely disagree. Cricket is a sport for all and no one should be excluded because of who they are. Using your platform to spread an ill-informed opinion and factually inaccurate article like this is will only add to the discrimination and abuse she’s already come across!”

Also, she explained about the policy of England Cricket Board (ECB) over the trans cricketers and wrote, “ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) have a clear policy on trans sportspeople. If you have an issue with that policy then that is up to you, but don’t take it out on individuals. As far as I’m aware there’s no conclusive proof of any ‘advantages’ of being a trans woman in cricket.”
