Team India bond over lunch outing ahead of first Test against Sri Lanka

Team India has arrived in Sri Lanka and is all set to take on the hosts in the 3-match Test series. The Virat Kohli-led side had a decent outing in the practice game where most of the batsmen got among the runs. The team is now keen on continuing the good run of form in the first Test that starts on July 26. Ahead of the first game, which will be played at Galle, team India found some quality time for a lunch outing together.

Some of the members of the squad had a good outing where they treated themselves with some delicious food. Indian middle-order batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara posted a picture on his social media handle after the lunch. The players are seen all smiles in the picture.

The pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav are seen in the picture along with skipper Virat Kohli, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Cheteshwar Pujara himself. He even added a caption with the picture. “The smiles show what a good lunch does to us ! #TeamIndia,” wrote Cheteshwar Pujara.

In other news, both teams have had injury concerns hitting them ahead of the first game. Sri Lankan regular skipper Dinesh Chandimal was ruled out of the game a week ago. Recently, India opener KL Rahul has also been ruled out of the game due to viral fever.

Recent form

Talking about the recent form, team India has had a dream 2016-17 home Test season where they beat New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, and Australia in the longest format of the game. Sri Lanka also will head into the game riding on a win against Zimbabwe in the one off Test that they recently played. The last time team India had toured the island nation for a Test series was in 2015. The series had marked Virat Kohli’s first series win as the full time Indian Test skipper.
